Senior Software Engineer, Backend

We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Software Engineer to work on unique product challenges: complex algorithms for demand prediction, optimal real-time pricing, routing, fraud detection, distributed systems and much more. Volumes are growing at a steady pace.

About the role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting, designing, developing, and deploying Bolt's growing backend systems. That will mostly happen via coding in Node.js and TypeScript (PS: no previous experience with Node.js is needed).

You will be closely collaborating with key internal stakeholders to determine how to scalably design backend systems and APIs to meet their needs.

What You'll Do

  • Manage a team of software engineers.
  • Supervise the software development lifecycle.
  • Establish and oversee processes for documentation.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level team members.
  • Design overall project vision and strategy.
  • Conduct research on user needs and development trends.
  • Set and promote necessary security protocols and standards.
  • Collaborate with team members on product ideas and solutions.

Basic Qualifications

  • Business administration degree or equivalent hands-on experience in strategy, finance or ad sales ops working with sales reps
  • Minimum of 7 years in Sales strategy, Strategy, Consulting, Strategic Planning or Sales Operations
  • Experience setting up and supervising adherence to tracking requirements
  • Proven experience in creative problem-solving techniques
  • MS Excel and Salesforce proficiency
  • Familiarity with Salesforce.com or other CRM systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8+ years' experience in an ad sales organization or a company which has a division passionate about advertising or working with the marketing team at a large advertiser from the finance side
  • Experience synthesizing information quickly, distilling key takeaways, and presenting insights to senior leadership
  • Effective, clear, and concise interpersonal skills, verbal and written. Experience presenting to executives and cross-functional teams- technical and non technical alike
  • Understanding of publisher monetization technologies for display, video, and audio - including GAM, header bidding, programmatic operations, affiliate marketing, and Digital Media
  • Experience working with data management platforms (ex. Krux, Cxense, etc) and analytics tools (ex. Google Analytics, ComScore, etc)
  • Experience creating dashboards and aggregating data from multiple sources in Tableau
  • Ability to generate templates and forms that enable sales reps to perform tasks in an efficient manner
  • Data driven thinking and excellent quantitative skills
  • Analytical, data-driven mindset with proven experience with data modelin
  • SQL, Python or R experience and proficiency using Tableau.
  • Experience working with large sets of structured and unstructured data and synthesizing into business insights (e.g., using SQL, Excel, Salesforce)
